Caston's Isabel Scales: Junior Season Top Performances (2022-23)

 - A 5'8" senior guard at Caston High School in Fulton, Indiana and commit of Bethel University.

- Averaged 16.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 3.3 steals per game in 23 games during her junior season in 2022-23, as the Lady Comets went 20-3.

- As she had been known to do, Scales continued to make getting to the free-throw line into an art form, where she went 103-of-138 (75 percent) as a junior.

- Recorded nine double-doubles during the 2022-23 season.

- One of those double-doubles came in a 41-31 win over rival Pioneer on Dec. 13, 2022, when Isabel produced 19 points and 10 rebounds.

- Opened her junior season with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in a 54-38 victory over Argos on Nov. 3.

- Scored a season-high 29 points to go along with 12 rebounds and seven steals in a 59-51 win at Peru on Nov. 8.

- Recorded 18 points and seven rebounds during a 26-23 win at North Judson-San Pierre on Dec. 8.

- Totaled 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in a 50-37 win at Tri-County on Jan. 14, 2023, also connecting on two-of-five from three-point range.

- On the softball diamond, Isabel swatted 15 home runs during the spring of 2023 and owns 34 career home runs for the Comets.

My nickname for Scales and classmate Addison Zimpleman is the "Smash Sisters" for their home run-hitting ability, and I hope to be in attendance when Caston plays host to Tippecanoe Valley on Apr. 25...

The Caston girls basketball team will take on West Central in the nightcap for sectionals next Tuesday night at South Newton High School.
