Northeastern's Ava Mikesell: Sophomore Season Top Performances (2022-23)


- A 5'4" junior point guard at Northeastern High School in Fountain City, Indiana.

- Averaged 10.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 3.8 steals per game as a sophomore during the 2022-23 season.

- In just her first game as a sophomore, Ava recorded 18 points, five rebounds, four assists, and nine steals in a 59-49 win over Muncie Central on Nov. 8, 2022.

- Made two-of-five three-pointers en route to 13 points, six assists, and five steals during a 67-40 win over Union City on Nov. 18.

- Recorded nine points, four rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a 51-40 victory at South Adams on Dec. 10, making three of her four free-throw attempts. 

- Handed out a season-high eight assists along with four points, and four steals in a 50-45 win over Yorktown on Dec. 17.

- Produced 15 points, five rebounds, swiped a season-high 10 steals during a 62-18 blowout of Centerville on Jan. 5, 2023.

- Connected on three-of-four from three-point range in a win over Knightstown on Jan. 13.

- Scored a season-high 19 points along with four rebounds and seven steals in a 68-23 win over Cambridge City Lincoln on Jan. 27.

- During sectionals at Hagerstown, Ava was good for 11 points and five assists in a 41-34 loss to Union County on Feb. 3.

- A 34 percent three-point shooter as a sophomore with 26 makes (26/76).

This winter, Mikesell gained notoriety for receiving a college offer at the University of Antelope Valley... In Lancaster, California! Unfortunately, the school had been forced to cease operations earlier this month after 27 years of existence due to what was labeled as a "severe financial position".

It did manage to provide an interesting concept for a brief period of time, though...

A two-time regional champion, Hughes concluded her prep career with averages of 9.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for the Lady Eagles. A 5'8" shooting guard, Reagan canned 169 three-pointers over the course of four varsity seasons. What is your favorite movie? Reagan:  " My favorite movie is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. - A 5'2" lefty-hitting freshman at North Posey High School in Poseyville, Indiana. - A high average hitter with good speed and a touch of power. - Batted .391 with two doubles, two triples, one home run, and 11 runs batted in as a freshman during the spring of 2024. - Hit a triple in her first career start for the Vikings at South Knox on Apr. 9, going 3-5 with two runs scored. - Went 1-3 with a double and drove in two runs in a 11-0 win over Shakamak on Apr. 20. - Stole two bases during a 15-3 victory over South Spencer on Apr. 26. - Went 2-3 with two runs scored in a 7-0 win over Pike Central on May 7. - Hit her first career home run in the fourth inning of an 8-5 victory over Mt.
