Evansville Central's Maddy Shirley: Sophomore Season Top Performances

 

- A 6'1" center/power forward at Central High School in Evansville, Indiana.

- Averaged 19.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game as a sophomore this past season.

- Produced a total of 11 double-doubles and six 20-10 games during the 2023-24 season.

- Collected 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 65-38 win over New Albany on Nov. 10.

- Recorded another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 71-29 win at Boonville on Nov. 15, also adding two assists and four blocked shots.

- Scored a season-high 29 points and added 17 rebounds and four steals during a 63-34 win over North Posey on Nov. 21.

- Recorded 16 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in a 52-38 victory over Jasper on Dec. 2.

- Made both of her three-point attempts en route to 20 points and 11 rebounds in a 50-27 win over Southridge on Dec. 22.

- Scored 26 points while connecting on two-of-three from three-point range in a 62-58 win over Bloomington South on Jan. 13.

- Recorded 16 points, six rebounds, and six blocks in the Lady Bears' second meeting of the season against New Albany, a 52-33 victory on Jan. 20.

- Went for a 20-20 game during sectionals on Feb. 2 in a 51-41 win over Castle at Harrison High School, scoring 22 points and grabbing 20 rebounds.

- A 79 percent free-throw shooter (95/121) during her sophomore campaign.

- Was named to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Top 100 for the second consecutive season...

A two-time regional champion, Hughes concluded her prep career with averages of 9.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for the Lady Eagles. A 5'8" shooting guard, Reagan canned 169 three-pointers over the course of four varsity seasons. What is your favorite movie? Reagan:  " My favorite movie is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. - A 5'2" lefty-hitting freshman at North Posey High School in Poseyville, Indiana. - A high average hitter with good speed and a touch of power. - Batted .391 with two doubles, two triples, one home run, and 11 runs batted in as a freshman during the spring of 2024. - Hit a triple in her first career start for the Vikings at South Knox on Apr. 9, going 3-5 with two runs scored. - Went 1-3 with a double and drove in two runs in a 11-0 win over Shakamak on Apr. 20. - Stole two bases during a 15-3 victory over South Spencer on Apr. 26. - Went 2-3 with two runs scored in a 7-0 win over Pike Central on May 7. - Hit her first career home run in the fourth inning of an 8-5 victory over Mt.
