Marquette Catholic's Marissa Plesant: Freshman Season Top Performances

- A 5'7" shooting guard at Marquette Catholic High School in Michigan City, Indiana.

- Averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game this past season.

- Was as reliable as they came from the free-throw line even as a freshman, good for 85 percent (50/59) from the charity stripe in 2023-24.

- Also led Marquette with 39 three-pointers, as the Blazers advanced to state finishing with a record of 24-5.

- Recorded 11 points and six rebounds in her third high school game, a 49-25 win at Andrean on Nov. 9.

- Scored 18 points and handed out a season-high seven assists in a win at Gary West Side on Nov. 16.

- Made five three-pointers en route to 28 points, five rebounds, and five steals in a 60-21 trouncing of Mishawaka on Dec. 1.

- Recorded six points and five assists in a 67-35 victory over host LaPorte at the LaPorte Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28.

- The next day, Marissa had her most complete game of the season with 17 points and eight rebounds in a 68-32 win over Whiting, connecting on two-of-five from three-point range.

- Also made two-of-five threes during a 60-23 win over Bowman Academy on Jan. 20, scoring 12 points and adding three steals.

- Opened sectionals with 16 points in four rebounds at host Culver Community on Jan. 30, connecting on three-of-five from three-point distance.

- Made another pair of threes during regionals in a 54-43 win over Morgan Township on Feb. 10, scoring 14 points and adding four rebounds and three steals, and to no surprise went a perfect six-of-six from the foul line.

...And of course, Marissa had the defining moment of her lifetime was she nailed a game-winning three at the top of the key in the final seconds of the semi-state championship game in Frankfort on Feb. 17, as the Blazers held off upset-bidding Clinton Central, 72-70. In her appearance at the Fieldhouse the following week, Marissa added three more three-pointers in Reggie's house, scoring 13 points overall in the 51-43 loss to Lanesville.
