Q&A With Penn Sophomore Cambria McLean

Batting lefty and playing middle infield, Cambria spent her freshman season last spring on the JV Black team for the Lady Kingsmen, a team that had gone 17-3... She is looking to make an impact on varsity for the largest high school in Northern Indiana in the not-too-distant future.

What is your favorite movie?

McLean: "My favorite movie is Anyone but You."

What is your favorite food?

McLean: "I would say my favorite food is pastas."

Who is your favorite athlete?

McLean: "One of my favorite players is Mia Scott. She is always so aggressive on the field even when she has setbacks."

What was your proudest moment as a softball player to this point?

McLean: "I would say working hard to come back from a back injury and seeing that success on the field."

Where do you foresee yourself in ten years' time?

McLean: "I see myself as a traveling PT."

Do you have any specific goals you'd like to accomplish between now and this time next year?

McLean: "I would say my goal and next year and now would be to grow my mental part of the game."

If you could go anywhere for a seven-day vacation, where would it be?

McLean: "I would go to Paris for a seven-day vacation."

Who or what would you say is your greatest inspiration?

McLean: "I would say my parents are my inspiration."

How would you best describe your strengths on the softball diamond?

McLean: "My strengths on the diamond would be that I play competitively and that my arm strength sets me apart from others."

Would you prefer to record the game-winning hit or the game-winning defensive play?

McLean: "I would rather record the game-winning hit."

What is your favorite animal and why?

McLean: "My favorite animal is a flamingo. It's so tropical and I love the bright color they have."

Outside of softball, what is your favorite downtime activity?

McLean: "I love to life and go for runs and anything fitness when I'm not playing softball."

What would you say for any potential outsider visiting your beloved hometown of Osceola, Indiana?

McLean: "That it's a very small and average little town."

Any random fact you would like to share about yourself?

McLean: "I love going to different beaches and getting to experience them in different places."

Q&A With New Prairie Senior Randi Robakowski

Current NP senior Randi Robakowski , along with her older sister Abby ( whom she in fact referenced in this session ), led the Cougars to the 3A state softball title in 2023. On July 30th of last year, Randi committed to Davenport University for softball and made her signing official last month. While she does not possess her sister’s pure power, Randi has more than held her own in batting average. During her sophomore campaign of 2023 in which New Prairie won it all, Robakowski batted .467 with 12 doubles and 34 RBI. Q&A With LaFargeville (NY) Senior Emeline Barton

This one was conducted back in October, and Emi has continued to light up scoreboards both before and after this particular interview. LaFargeville Central School is located just west of the Adirondack Mountains, and Barton holds the school's all-time career scoring record for both boys and girls. Emi made seven three-pointers in a blowout of Sackets Harbor on Dec. 5.
